Residents across southwestern Connecticut are gearing up for their New Year's Eve celebrations. But they're not the only ones who are getting ready for the big night.
Norwalk Police Department officials say they?ve received a state grant to increase their DWI patrols on New Year's Eve. They may also have random sobriety checkpoints set up around the area.
Police say partygoers should always choose a designated driver or keep the numbers of local taxi companies handy to get a safe ride home.
