Norwalk residents prepare meals as part of Day of Giving
Dozens of Norwalk residents spent their Saturday morning getting their hands dirty for a good cause.
Volunteers were participating in Inspira Marketing Group's Day of Giving, during which they prepped, cooked and delivered meals to the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk.
The group used local Mexican restaurant Evarito's commercial kitchen to prepare the meals, make spring rolls, wraps, cookies and more.
"Typically, we do a lot of initiatives around helping pediatric cancer research," says Jeff Snyder, of Inspire Marketing Group. "But we really heard from our people that they wanted to do more for our local community and for the last several years we've been able to do some really amazing programs."
Volunteers delivered the food to the shelter throughout the afternoon.
