A day after Calf Pasture Beach had to be shut down for almost an hour, Norwalk police say there will be a strong police presence on weekends and evenings.
Police say that two groups of nearly 200 teenagers wearing gang colors arrived late in the afternoon on Memorial Day. Police say they were not actually affiliated with the gangs.
Authorities say the groups of teens had a standoff on the beach, but there were no major violent incidents. Officers closed the beach entrance and removed the teens.
No arrests were made.
