Police say speed was a factor in the SUV crash that left seven family members dead after their car flipped over a guardrail and fell into a ravine.
According to police, the SUV was going about 68 mph on the Bronx River Parkway Sunday afternoon when it clipped the median, damaging one of its tires. It then skidded across three lanes of traffic, went over the guardrail, and fell more than 50 feet into an unused area of the Bronx Zoo.
Everyone in the car, four adults and three children, were pronounced dead at the scene.
