Stratford's mayor and police chief met with MTA Police, Metro-North and state transportation officials Thursday to discuss enacting safety measures along a stretch of train tracks where two men were recently killed trying to cross.

The second victim was killed a week ago, sparking outrage and calls for better safety measures.Officials plan to install signs warning pedestrians it is illegal and dangerous to trespass across train tracks over the next few days. They also plan to set up an education program to teach students about this danger. Mayor Miron is also insisting on fences or some kind of physical barrier.

The group will meet again in two weeks to decide on the physical barriers to erect.
