Officials: Probationary officer put on leave after badge was found at Bridgeport double homicide scene

A Bridgeport probationary officer has been put on administrative leave following the discovery of her badge at the scene of a double homicide over the weekend.
The incident took place at an illegal night club in the basement of 1023 Main St.
Police responded there early Sunday morning after shots were fired. They discovered 38-year-old Charles Barnes, of Bloomfield, dead in the basement of the location.
Officials also discovered 40-year-old Charles Peters, of Stamford, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital where he later died.

The homicide remains an active investigation. Police have not released the names of any suspects involved.
