Raccoons have been spotted running around in broad daylight near Edenwald and Gunther avenues in the Bronx.
City Animal Care and Control experts say since they were seen during the day, there's a good chance the raccoons are rabid. They say when nocturnal animals come out during daylight they are often disoriented and sick.
Spotting a rabid raccoon is easy according to experts, because they often appear drunk, are foaming at the mouth or become aggressive. Animal Care and Control says to call 311 to report a raccoon problem in your neighborhood.
