? A state panel has selected New London prosecutor Kevin Kane Friday as the new chief state's attorney.
The Criminal Justice Commission voted unanimously for Kane to replace Christopher Morano, who dropped his bid for reappointment this week amid criticism from top regional prosecutors.
The two other candidates were state prosecutor Paul Murray and Hartford defense lawyer Michael Georgetti.
