Parents in Stamford are fearing for their children's safety following reports of a suspicious man on Shadow Ridge Road.
The Davenport Ridge Elementary School and Rippowam Middle School sent letters home to parents Tuesday notifying them of the incident. It said that students were approached by a white male at their bus stop on two separate occasions Monday.
Parents tell News 12 that the man first approached a middle school student who then ran away. They say an hour later, the man approached an elementary school student who also ran home.
Police are urging parents to speak with their children about stranger danger. They say they have increased patrols in the area of Shadow Ridge Road and nearby schools in response.
