Police in Stamford are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.
It happened Thursday around 11:30 p.m. on High Ridge Road near Olga Drive.
Police say the victim was crossing the street when he was hit by a Toyota Prius heading north on High Ridge Road. They say he was not in a crosswalk. Investigators say he died on the scene.
The victim did not identification on him at the time, and authorities are looking for the public's help in trying to determine the man’s identity. Police describe him as Asian, 60 to 70 years old with gray hair. He weighed about 140 pounds.
According to officials, the driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
