Police in Bridgeport say a person wound up trapped inside a garbage chute at a city apartment building.
It happened Thursday around 7 a.m. on Highland Avenue.
According to officials, fire crews had to dismantle the trash compactor in order to get into the shaft.
News 12 is told the person was alert and conscious when taken to the hospital.
