Police say a personal trainer from a Fairfield gym has been charged with sexually assaulting his teenage client.
According to police, 44-year-old Patrick Myers made sexually explicit comments to the teenage girl while she worked out at the Edge Fitness Club. He then lured her to the parking lot to pet his dog, which is where he allegedly groped her, police say. The victim first reported the incident to gym management, then called police.
Police say Myers has a criminal record and has had similar complaints and charges filed against him in the past. Gym management says he's worked there for three years and background checks were not protocol when he was hired. He has since been fired.
