Parents say a public area that should be safe for children is instead littered with dangerous and infected trash. Students and residents say they are constantly finding syringes, blood vials and trash on the land across from MS 391 on Folin Street and East 182nd Street. Now, they are calling on the city to clean up the area before the end of the year so their children can play without harm. The New York City Department of Education says it is also working with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development to fix the problem.
