Police in New York City say a fight over a parking space turned deadly on a street in Queens, leaving one person dead and eight injured.
It happened early Sunday morning outside a hookah lounge.
According to police, the suspect stabbed two people before driving his car into a crowd of people.
One of the injured is still in critical condition.
The NYPD says the incident is not being investigated as a terror attack.
"During the ensuing dispute, involving a group of people who were outside the lounge, the white Hyundai sedan then drove from the scene and mounted the sidewalk approximately half a block away at 128th street,” says Assistant Chief David Barrere.“Six individuals were struck by the vehicle, resulting in one fatality."
Authorities say the driver is in custody.
Charges have not yet been filed.
