A Bridgeport family is grieving as police investigate the death of their baby.

Officials were called to the 400 block of Poplar Street around 6:30 a.m. Saturday by the infant’s parents.

Police say the 1-month-old boy was found nonresponsive and was pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

Both neighbors and police tell News 12 it's especially painful to deal with the death of a baby.

Police say it will be up to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death, but there were no outward signs of foul play.
