Police say Michael Bernaud was messaging a 13-year-old boy on Instagram.
The victim said he met Bernaud in April 2022 in Orange, according to authorities.
The victim said Bernaud had some possibly "pedophile-type" conversations with him.
Bernaud was released on a $50,000 bond and is due in court next month.
