Locals are hoping a bigger security presence at an annual college beach party will keep it from becoming as chaotic and dangerous as previous celebrations.Fairfield Beach residents say the annual 'Clam Jam,' which began this morning, is more than just a beach bash -- it's a culture clash.Residents say more than 1,000 undergraduates storm Fairfield Beach each year for a wild party that has resulted in drunken driving, arrests and underage drinking. The Fairfield Beach Residents Association obtained a court order in 2006 to limit the number of people in the common areas on Lantern Point to 250. But spokesperson Kathy Stracham says there were more than 1,000 college students at the beach by noon today.
