Police are searching for the gunman who opened fire inside a crowded Bridgeport club Easter morning. According to police, 200 people were inside Club Novella on Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport when someone pulled out a gun and began shooting. Twenty-six-year-old Eric Ortiz, of Bridgeport, was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Later that morning three other Bridgeport residents showed up at area hospitals, saying they were also shot inside the bar. Police say their injuries are not life threatening. As of now, police say they believe Ortiz may have been the intended target, but are continuing to investigate. Since this incident, three female employees have quit out of concern for their safety. Councilman Andre Baker says security both inside and outside the club is lacking. Anyone with any information about the shootings can call Bridgeport police at 576-7917. Related Stories:
