Police are looking for the person who used fecal matter to draw anti-Semitic symbols on a popular building on Atlantic Street in downtown Stamford.
Police say someone used feces to smear a swastika and the Star of David near the entrance of the Rich Forum Media Center Sunday.
The Rich Forum Media Center films shows such as Maury Povich and Jerry Springer.
Police say they are still trying to find the person responsible for the act. They say the person appeared to be wearing khaki shorts over a pair of jeans.
Officials are questioning this person's mental state. They believe the suspect had feces in a cup and used a latex glove.
"Not only are you making the efforts to make this hate crime, this hate speech, but to write it in fecal matter is a sign of a very disturbed person,” says Stamford Police Lt. Tom Barcello.
Jewish community leaders say they are outraged. Lauren Steinberg, director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, says instances like this keep happening and that something needs to be done.
Police are trying to obtain video that may help in their investigation. They ask anyone with information to call them.
