Police hauled dozens of items out of a Stamford home today that they say were part of a drug factory where hallucinogenic mushrooms were being grown. Stamford police discovered a three-room drug factory in the basement of 15 Stanwick Place when they went there to serve an outstanding warrant to homeowner Dimitri Taranov, 42. Investigators say it was the largest operation involving the growth of illegal hallucinogenic mushrooms that the state has ever seen. Taranov faced drug charges today and is being held on just over $500,000 bond.
