Police have identified a man who drowned in the Norwalk River as Jozef Gorski, 62, of Easton.
Police say witnesses told them he appeared to slip while stepping off of a boat onto the dock.
Witness Jesse Senior called 911. She says Gorski's son had just purchased the boat and was showing his father the craft when he slipped and went under. Officials say the man did not know how to swim.
When Gorski fell, Senior says the son went in after him but wasn't able to find him. She says first responders from Norwalk and Stamford showed up minutes later.
His body was found a short time later.
Gorski was taken to Norwalk Hospital and pronounced dead.
