Police identify men accused of attempting to deposit fake checks
Bridgeport police released the identities of two men today who they say tried to deposit fake checks at a Citibank location.
Police arrested the two suspects yesterday at Citibank on Main Street.
They've identified the men as 27-year-old Christopher Jules and 36-year-old Alan Dean, both from Florida.
They say Jules posted a $100,000 bond. However, Dean appeared in court today and was placed under a $75,000 bond.
Authorities say the two may have had plans to target other Citibank locations throughout the state. They were found with 20 checks totaling more than $40,000, a printer and sheets of paper to make more checks.
Police say the best step residents can follow to avoid being a victim is to monitor your bank account often so you can quickly spot suspicious activity.
