Bridgeport police are warning dog owners Sunday evening after 10 pedigree dogs were stolen over a two-week period.
Police say the pets were likely taken by an illegal breeder who has yet to be caught.
All 10 pedigrees were young females that could be bred for profit.
Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez says it's extraordinary for so many dogs to be stolen during a short period of time.
Councilwoman Jeanette Herron is the city-appointed liaison between police and the victims, and says whoever took the animals can return them with no questions asked.
Anyone with information is urged to call 203-209-2788.
