Police in Bridgeport are investigating a fatal afternoon shooting yesterday.

Police say the shooting happened at the intersection of Pearl and Brooks streets. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Davon Robertson.

According to police, the suspect and victim got into a fight and the suspect opened fire at around 12:30 p.m Monday. Police believe the suspect and victim knew each other, but authorities could not specify the nature of their relationship.

Officers had originally said they had a 17 year old in custody in the case. However, police now say they have several leads in the case.

Officers say there was also a second shooting around the same time at Washington Park on Barnum Avenue. Police say two men were shot in the legs at the park, but neither is cooperating with police. It is not believed that the two shootings are connected.
