A state police K-9 went missing during a search and rescue operation Wednesday night for a man who disappeared in Danbury.
Texas is a 3-year-old bloodhound. He was last seen wearing a green tracking vest.
State troopers, members from the Danbury police and fire departments and volunteers were out searching for the dog Thursday night.
Texas was part of a search team Wednesday that was looking for a 42-year-old man who ran into the woods and was later found. When Texas caught scent of the man on steep terrain, he bolted from his partner around 6 p.m. and has not been seen since.
Police say they will search for however long it takes to find Texas, who has been on the job for two years. They were expected to search again on Friday.
