Police: Missing brothers found safe in Norwalk
Bridgeport police say two brothers whose disappearance triggered a Silver Alert were found safe in Norwalk.
Daniel and Gabriel Cardenas went missing from their Benson Street home in Bridgeport Wednesday morning.
Police say the Blackham School students, ages 12 and 13, spent the night 14 miles away, in a Norwalk McDonald's parking lot. They say they ran away from home after an argument with their parents over the boys' social media use. The boys left a message saying they had gone to California.
Their disappearance caused Connecticut State Police to issue a Silver Alert. Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez says detectives tracked the boys through the app Snapchat and found them Thursday morning.
Relatives say they're grateful to police for helping to bring the boys home.
Perez says no charges have been filed and that he's glad the boys are safe.
