Police: Panhandler fatally stabbed Bronx teen
Police say the Bronx teen who was stabbed to death on Friday was followed by two suspects who asked for money ahead of the slaying.
As News 12 has reported, the stabbing happened on East 175th St. and Walton Avenue Friday night.
Police say they found 17-year-old Carl Ducasse with a stab wound to his chest around the corner from his home around 11 p.m.
Ducasse's parents say their son had gone out with his friend to get a milkshake, passing a nearby shelter on their way home. They say two people followed their son and his friend, looking for money.
"My son said, 'Don't touch me, I don't have money,'" says Angela Ducasse, the victim's mother.
According to police, after the suspect asked for money, a physical confrontation ensued and a friend or associate of the suspect stabbed Ducasse in the chest near 175th Street and Walton Avenue.
"I saw my son when he was on the floor," said Carlos Ducasse, the victim's father.
EMS crews took the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
A memorial has been set up in front of Ducasse's building where people have come to pay their respects.
Ducasse's parents say the killer robbed them of a future lawyer and an all-around good kid.
"My life is gone," Angela says. "I have a daughter, but one of my eyes is my daughter and the other is my son."
