Police: Pepper spray discharge prompts early dismissal of Bassick High School; at least 30 students impacted

Bassick High School was evacuated Thursday after police say pepper spray was accidentally discharged inside of the building.

Bassick High School in Bridgeport was evacuated and dismissed early Thursday after police say pepper spray was accidentally discharged inside of the building.
Police say the incident happened at 8:15 a.m. at the school.
The school was dismissed at 11:25 a.m. 
Officials say the building was evacuated and police say at least 30 students were affected by the pepper spray but suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 
Police did not say how the spray ended up inside of the school or how it was discharged.
