The Merritt Parkway was shut down for several hours Saturday following a truck accident.

The incident happened on Route 15 southbound by the West Rocks Road overpass around 5:30 p.m.

Fire officials say a front loader garbage truck hit the bridge deck and overturned. A passenger car was also heavily damaged.

Minor injuries were reported and the victims were transported to Norwalk Hospital.
