Police use 'uplifting' stunt for good cause
Bridgeport police officers headed for the skies Wednesday to raise money for the Connecticut Special Olympics.
The officers were originally going to climb to the roof of Vazzy?s Restaurant on Broadbridge and Huntington Turnpike. However, due to insurance purposes, they were raised up in a lift. The officers say they will stay up in the lift until they reach their goal of $2,000.
Some officers were out in the streets collecting cash in stockings. Others were in the parking lot of Vazzy?s. There was also a table set up in the Vazzy?s lot for a toy drive.
