A wind surfer was rescued after being swept away on Compo Beach Friday evening.
Westport Police tell News 12 that the incident happened around 6 p.m. due to high winds.
While first responders were arriving, a private boat rescued the person.
The person was evaluated by Westport emergency medical service personnel and refused transport to the emergency room for further evaluation.
