Police: Woman in hospital following car crash into utility pole

<p>Police in Bridgeport say a woman is in the hospital after crashing her car into a utility pole.</p>

Police in Bridgeport say a woman is in the hospital after crashing her car into a utility pole.
According to police, the driver was heading westbound on Capitol Avenue near Lincoln Boulevard when she struck the pole.
Fire crews removed the woman in about 10 minutes.
Officials say she was in shock following the crash but is expected to be OK.
No power outages have yet to be reported. United Illuminating Co. has been called to repair the pole.
Witnesses tell police the driver was going fast.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
