Potholes left from winter storms and city plows have drivers in Stamford swerving to avoid damaging their cars.One Stamford resident says a run in with a pothole decreased the value of his car by $1,500.

Potholes left from winter storms and city plows have drivers in Stamford swerving to avoid damaging their cars.One Stamford resident says a run in with a pothole decreased the value of his car by $1,500. Representatives from the City of Stamford Highway Transportation Department say they patch a couple hundred potholes a week and use about 4,000 tons of coal in the process. City officials say they are gearing up for another round of bad weather this weekend. They say the plow equipment is being readied and coal has been ordered.
