Protesters say they may leave Latham Park in Stamford after camping out there since Saturday.
Police gave them a letter asking them to leave, but it did not set a deadline. There was a confrontation Wednesday night between protesters and officers, when some started to move into the street, blocking traffic.
Several squad cars showed up and there were some tense words, but things calmed down when the group returned to their camp. Organizers say if police ask them to leave Latham Park, they will cooperate.

A spokesperson for the mayor says he's aware of the letter and stands by the police department. Some officials say they support the protesters staying in the park.
The tents are still standing, but a News 12 crew saw people beginning to remove some items.
