Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority issued a ruling Wednesday for utility companies to overhaul recent rate hikes.
PURA made the ruling after a several months-long investigation into high electric bills received in July and August by customers of the Connecticut Light and Power Company, Eversource and United Illuminating Company.
PURA concluded that the current approach to rate adjustments is not in the public interest and there will be an overhaul into the process moving forward.
As a result of the ruling, PURA will consider semi-annual adjustments .
