The Fordham University Rams men's basketball team hoped to end its losing streak against St. Joseph's when both teams hit the hardwood in the Bronx.
The Rams were up 29 points at one point in the game, but St. Joe's would not go quietly. The Hawks were in the lead 49-48 at the end of the second half. The Rams regained the lead with one minute left in the game, which went into overtime. Fordham's Marcus Stout scored the game-winning basket. The Rams won 56-54.
The win marks the first Fordham has enjoyed against St. Joseph's since February 1999. Stout and fellow Fordham player Bryan Dunston were honored before tip off. Both players scored at least 1,000 points each this season.
