The Red Cross is helping those displaced by a two-alarm fire in Milford.
It happened Tuesday just before 7:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on New Haven Avenue.
According to officials, when crews arrived, there was heavy smoke pouring out of a second-floor window.
Officials say the fire didn't spread past the apartment where it started, but there's smoke and water damage throughout the building.
“The occupants managed to get out of the residence on their own,” says Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi. “Firefighters were not injured, occupants not injured as well.”
Officials say the rest of the tenants were allowed to return to their apartments.
