Resident Wolf Boehme collected signatures Monday for a petition to reduce police staffing in Redding.

In his petition, Boehme suggests three alternatives for changes in the current police force, all involving an officer with access to backup.

Boehme says the reason for the petition is how much money it costs the town to employ the officers.

Boehme hoped to collect 100 signatures.
