Communities across western Connecticut saw minor flooding Tuesday as a result of Jose.
Residents in Westport say they were not affected by the elements. They say the area of Saugatuck Island tends to become flooded considering its proximity to the water.
Other coastal cities and towns experienced similar nuisance flooding. Some neighborhoods by the shore in Milford saw some water on the streets.
Firefighters say the flooding was nothing out of the ordinary and nothing their resources couldn't handle.
Yost says crews are also watching Hurricane Maria. They say they are checking their equipment and setting up their emergency operations center just in case.
The National Weather Service downgraded Jose to a tropical storm with top winds speeds of about 70 mph late Tuesday night.
