Gov. M. Jodi Rell pledged Thursday to sign the teen driving bill approved by the Legislature Wednesday night.As part of the bill, all new drivers will only be allowed to drive until 11 p.m. In addition, parents must go with their children for two hours of classroom instruction and teenagers will have to complete 40 hours of on the road training. Teenage drivers say they aren't too happy about the new regulations, but some say they think it will help them and their friends drive more cautiously. While parents agree it?s good idea, they say they're not sure whether the new rules will change the mindset of young drivers. ?I think the more the parents are involved and engaged, I think it's going to help the teens,? says Ulrika Asland, of Greenwich. That?s what Rell is hoping parents do -- take the initiative and talk with their teens about creating safe driving habits.
