Republicans in several races in Greenwich are expected to be victorious once again this year.

One Republican hoping for victory is Scott Frantz, who is seeking his 5th term as state senator in the 36th District. Frantz is running against Democrat John Blankley and Green Party candidate Edward Hefflin.

Sen. Frantz has championed Emily's Law, which raised money for the minumum boat towing age to 16. The law was created after a Greenwich teen died in a tubing accident in 2014.

Blakely has said he wants to use his years of experience handling large budgets to represent the district. And candidate Hefflin has said if he wins he will reform public banking.

There are also two uncontested races. Republican state Rep. Livvy Floren is running unopposed for the 149th District. She is currently in her eighth term. Republican Mike Bocchino is running for state representative for the 150th District. He's running for his first term.
