Connecticut state parks may be losing revenue by offering free admission as the heat wave dragged on Thursday, but they certainly aren?t losing visitors.
Park officials reported higher than normal weekday visitors as word got out that park admissions were gratis for sweaty residents looking for a place to cool off. At Sherwood Island State Park, a fair amount of visitors swam and strolled on the beach.
Visitors who took advantage of free admissions said it was a good, low-cost way to pass family time. The last day to take advantage of free admission is Thursday.
