Residents complain of noise from LaGuardia Airport
Residents in the East Bronx say they are bothered by the noise of incoming and outgoing planes at LaGuardia Airport.
U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley says the complaints from Throggs Neck residents have largely fallen on deaf ears. This will be done, he says, by "getting sound studies done for our constituency, making sure that every school in our district that was eligible for soundproofing has been soundproofed."
Crowley is helping out one school in particular - Monsignor Scanlan, whose Port Authority soundproofing application got stalled.
In addition to noise, Crowley cites asthma as a problem stemming from jet fuel. Other concerns include health and environmental issues.
News 12 reached out to Transportation Security Administration officials for comment, but has not heard back.
