(08/29/06) BRIDGEPORT - Residents in one Bridgeport condo are still cleaning up after Sunday's rain, but many say the odor is not going away.
The first floor of the building on Stevens Street flooded on Sunday during the rainstorm. Residents in the Lexington House saw their toilets and bathtubs backed up and overflowed into their homes. This caused not only debris, but also a very strong stench. Officials say there was just too much water in the sewer system.
Residents say they are looking for answers as to why their homes were damaged. Many say they attempted to contact several city departments but have not received any response.
