People were out Wednesday preparing for the incoming snowstorm by stocking up on food and snow essentials in stores.
Customers at Stew Leonard's in Norwalk were picking up snowstorm staples like bread, eggs and milk.
They were also grabbing snow day items like ice melt, shovels and fire logs.
"In case the electricity goes out, I buy a lot of cold cuts and meats, and pre-made food and things like that. A lot of snacks," said Phyllis Neiswanger, of Cheshire.
Employees say at this time of year, they are always prepared for the inevitable snow and the preparation that comes with it.
"This one was a little different in that they didn't decide how much snow we were going to have until the very last minute, but this time of year we're always ready with the firewood and the milk, the shovels, the salt. We've got it all," says Stew Leonard's Vice President Les Slater.
