Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz was in Bridgeport Monday for the grand opening of a new affordable housing complex.

The $5 million development features 18 town house style units in the downtown west neighborhood.

The state housing commissioner says projects like these are important.

This is the latest of four developments completed by Building Neighborhoods Together.

In total, its Downtown West Initiative has invested nearly $30 million into affordable housing in Bridgeport.
