Ridgefield parents are shocked Wednesday after hearing a church choir director is accused of statutory rape.
Saint Andrew?s Lutheran Church choir director Omar Rodriguez was arrested Tuesday after a teen from Weston told police she had sex with the 27-year-old at his apartment. Rodriguez, a Westchester County middle school teacher, was charged last week with inappropriately touching and taking risqué pictures of some of his students. Police say Rodriguez has had sexual contact with several teen girls at the school. According to police, the Weston girl came forward after hearing about the allegations against Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is being held in Westchester County on $150,000 bond. He is due back in court Thursday.
