Robbed storeowner blames police for lack of response
A Bridgeport storeowner who was robbed at gunpoint said the incident could have been prevented if police had increased patrols in the area following a string of nearby robberies. Juan Hernandez, who owns the Connecticut Avenue bodega, said police had warned him about the other recent robberies, yet did nothing to prevent similar crimes in the future. He said they could have increased patrols. ."In the middle of the day no police presence at all, Hernandez said. Something needs to happen for them to be here,".Hernandez said he is putting together a petition demanding more police patrols for the area. Meanwhile, Bridgeport Police said they are following up on several leads, and are confident they will find the people involved.
