A number of Throgs Neck residents say they are irate after grappling with new home construction they claim isn?t properly zoned and is sure to make area parking scarcer.New homes on 1272 Mayflower Avenue have infuriated the local community. Residents say driveways at the two duplexes don?t meet zoning requirements because they are too narrow. The construction has also led to removal of a telephone pole, another worry for some neighbors.Residents say they?ve complained to the Department of Buildings about the overcrowded conditions. The developer says both homes do meet building codes. He added that he has a right to do what he wants with property he paid for.
