For the second time in recent months, Sen. Chris Murphy has called out the NCAA for failing to provide athletes with a proper education.
This was released as part of a report by the United States Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee.
The report found that among Power Five conference schools, only 12% of all revenue goes toward student aid and scholarships, while 16% goes to coaches' salaries.
The report also discussed 40 different cheating scandals and the high number of students who fail to graduate.
"When student athletes are being used as commodities to make money for adults and not being compensated or rewarded for the work that they do, that's a fairness issue. That's a civil rights issue," Murphy said.
